Electronic Ear Defenders for someone hard of hearing?
Siberian Tiger replied to DaveB1's topic in Guns & Equipment
I use Peltor Sportak. I have horrendous hearing and these are fab! I can hear normal conversations clearly when wearing them (far clearer than when I'm not wearing them). -
Open invite. Sunday at PL then?
-
Ok, how about 11am Sunday (earlier if it suits folks)
-
Can do 11 on the sat but sun is ok too if more people can make it.

Anyone know of a good dog trainer
Siberian Tiger replied to hedge hunter 1984's topic in Dogs and Dog Training
Mike Roberts is brilliant. PM him on here MiLisCer, though he's not here often. If you don't get a quick response PM me and I'll pass on details :-) -
If you keep taking the food away when he growls, you are reinforcing his need to growl and protect his food (after all the reason he is growling is because he's worried you may take it away and therefore he's guarding it). I had the exact same problem with my youngest when my partner at the time decided he should be able to take my pups food away without him protesting whilst he was mid-eat! It took a fair bit of work re-training his association with food after that as no one could go hear him without him growling and snarling. We did this by dropping bits of high value food (ham etc) into his bowl as we passed, to build a positive association between people and food. He learnt he was getting nice treats when people approached his bowl rather than being worried that we were going to take it away. I can now take his food from him whilst eating if I chose to however I don't see the point in disturbing him whilst he is eating. :-)

Hehe, no danger of needing one of those here. Mike, I might pop up to PL tomorrow morning so long as its not raining if you fancy it.

Check out 'events and meets' threads, we're looking at a meet up

Fuzzy, if Tod bails on you I'll definitely take you up on some shooting (you should be used to shooting with a group of girls) Anyone fancy Park Lodge, Monckton, Beverley?

I'll make sure Digweed stays at home, I'm sure his other half can keep him amused with house chores

Count me in!

Hello! I've just moved up that way and pass Market Weighton on my way to work. Shout up if you fancy shooting. A word of advice, don't go for a carvery after shooting with Swiss Tony lol

yorkshire lads, what would you like to see?
Siberian Tiger replied to cockercas's topic in Events and Meets
Think I'm down to work one of the days at the show :-( Hopefully I can wangle time off to shoot.....if not I'm hoping to pop down on the Sunday -
We went over today. Didn't have any problem with parking or traffic. A couple of guys stopped us and asked if we would like tickets, to which we answered 'yes' and we were promptly handed 2 free tickets. Had we paid £17 a piece we'd have been a little disappointed!
