adam f
Just wondered if anyone has made a gun lamp? I was about to order one, when it got me thinking - the one I use from the truck is a hella spot lamp with a handle and switch added and a 12v socket on a traiing lead - it works great, but what's to stop me mounting this on the scope, and connecting to a 12v battery in a pouch on my belt? This sounds too simple? What am I missing - or is this all the Lightforce type lamps are?
Hezbear
Nothing is to stop you doing it, just have to find a suitable mount for the scope, I sometimes still use home made hand held lamps the same as yours
adam f
I got on and did it anyway! I'm a bit of a hoarder and this often pays off... an hour in the workshop with a few odds and **** and I now have this: The lamp is one of a pair of 100w Hella spots I bought off ebay a few years ago - one has a handle on and a 12v ciggie socket for lamping from the truck, the other is this one and now has a bracket to mount on the scope, I fitted a small rocker switch from my 'bit' box and connected this to a 12v SLA battery I had from my diving kit. Also spare in my diving kit was a nylon pouch (to take the battery) and a webbing belt to take the pouch. My new HMR lamping kit - good out to about 200 yards - all for less than £20!
