Went up to the corn on the cob game stripe today only having shot it once last week due to work got back today, nothing" all been eaten not a bird or grain of corn in sight :/ . last year I got 3 weeks at this same peace of land. Had a look at some rape closer to home this afternoon, loads on it but I think one bang & they will be buy buy. Have you game cover to shoot? & if so how long as yours lasted. :hmm:

You may think there is nothing there but 9 times out of 10 there is still food there for them to find ,tend to get around 2 weeks or more on mine depending on how good the maize has done that year .This year looks good with a hell of alot of corn on the deck but it also helps that we dont cut all of the strip at once just take a few strips then leave a week and do a few more .

I had a client shoot a strip last week and he shot 51 it had been cut 1 week now there are more birds hitting it than before and still plenty of food on show .

Rats are our biggest problem. One strip I have seen birds on it all season but now we can shoot it there hasnt been much on it, maybe 20 or so. When I put the decoys out last week I was falling down holes all over the place. I think they are eating alot of the maize but we had more results on it last year when the strip was redrilled with alot of the previous years left on top. They went mad for it.
