ajb403
Well done Hampshire, I sent my firearms application off 2nd November!! Still not here – 16 weeks and counting………. I had mine granted by Hampshire in Dec '09, it took 3 weeks from posting the application to the ticket hitting the doormat, was dead impressed at that! However, I moved to Somerset last year and despite giving them 8 weeks notice of the move date I still had to phone them and chase them 4 weeks after I'd moved house to pass my details on to the new constabulary so I could get my ticket re-issued. When I spoke to them they said they were really busy and only accepting phone calls at certain times of day to allow them to catch up. Maybe give them a ring and politely enquire what the status of your application is. Cheers Ashley
Gray
Yep sadly Hants are terrible. Wiltshire were excellent - a call and trip up to the HQ was met with a quick chat and any variations completed there and then on two seperate occasions, a big thumbs up to their department. Cornwall were equally as helpful. Hampshire however are abysmal, it took nearly 6 months for my renewal to be done, and now im 7 weeks into a club address change and still counting, i even dropped it to their door on a tuesday at 1615hrs only to find unsuprisingly that the department was only single manned (was a sunny day so i guess they knocked off early for the beach lol) and even then the desk bloke downstairs was away trying to lock up early!!! I only hope others have more luck, yes a very unhappy teddy - i appreciate times are busy but it really does take the biscuit, cant wait until 4 yrs time - the even sadder part was that it all went in a month early due to a constabulary change (ie moving counties) fun fun fun. hillmouse
D and C took 6 months for a change of address, 7 Months for a renewal and still have not responded to another change of address but it doesn't matter as Norfolk where I moved to sorted it in 5 days.
