bobt
I have recently lost 3 bits of land, one as the guy moved away and I havnt had time to see the new people, the second two are due to the owners both friends dieing, I suppose I could still go but as their families were nearly anti, its not worth the bother. however there is a wood near our shoot that no one is allowed in its about 10 acres, i know a builder who is doing some work for him so he introduced me, guess what I got the whole farm  today while talking to another farmer who is not normally happy to have people on his land, out of the blue he asked me to shoot some pigeions for him on the bottom 50. and then went on to say we have a duckpond and a nice wood or 3 with deer and pheasants to keep down. Both of these offers came without too much work on my part, so my advice to anyone looking for land is try an indirect approach find someone who also knows the landowner.
