deny essex
Just a follow up as many have asked where to get the windmills for FUD modification , the 99p shop in the garden section, also bought a cpl at a boot sale £1 each and each windmill will do 2 fuds, in addtion the wire on them is suitable for the bounce effect as per the video. Happy DIddly `Y`ing A Fudding bore but the Fuds from new were a disapointment in design when they arrived , use em, sell them on or chop them about were the choices . Tried them as from the box in the field and the 1st birds for what few were around landed with them so they worked as a decoy as far as I was concerned so it was keep them and chop them about. You may have seen the vid well more chopping has gone on. As well as the new bounce mounts I have removed the spreaders and replaced with a corrugated plastic which just wedges in and spreads the decoy, the type used in signs. Bouncer arms fold within the decoy as well as stick and spreader. My object is to get my gear as light and as compact as possible as I have a back condition and an ole f**t , The 6 fuds now weigh in at 8 ounces about 113 gram which is a lot lighter and more compact from the original design and lighter than 6 shells, I know silo socks are light and have used them with Cosd but they somehow just dont grab me to buy. A lot of fuss with very little cost but now a working and easily light transportable decoy, pecking one next Edited April 22, 2011 by deny essex
Cosd
I've seen these and Denny has definitely improved them. They are compact and weigh next to nothing, they are quick to set up and take down. The movement even in light breeze makes them look very real. I had seven real birds on the ground in one bunch and 15 yards away Denny set up the fuds, looking across the field at the whole pattern, the fuds looked as code to the real bird as you can get. Good job Denny, hopefully soon we can give them a proper hot barrel test! Catch up with you soon!
