bullet boy
When I bought my very first PCP in a Rapid I thought I had made a mistake at first as it didn't have the feel of a real airgun IMO as I was using a Theoben Fenman before I took the PCP plunge.Today I haven't looked back as I sold all my Gas-Ram and Spring guns. The only spring gun I have now is a Weihrauch HW45 pistol which is superb. Once you buy a quality PCP,you won't look back-I didn't!
Albion
Have a look for second hand diving bottles on here and other forums. You can make a big saving cos gun shops can be quite expensive. Just be aware of the max pressure of the bottle. Obviously a 300bar bottle will give more fills than a 232bar bottle of equal volume. Particularly important if your rifle fill pressure is relatively high - e.g the HW100 is 200bar, compared to maybe 170 or 180bar for an S410. Regarding regulation: plenty of people get on well with unregulated rifles, but most can have a regulator fitted later if you really want. At the end of the day, choose a rifle that feels right for you.
