Duffryn
I wonder if I could ask for a bit of help please ? I'm working on developing a website for a dog trainer and we want to try and include a number of short professional videos offering hints and tips on common problems so that the site can do more than just sell the training services, we want it to be of use to those training their own dogs. We have our own ideas but I'd really appreciate any suggestions for topics that you think would be helpful to people for us to cover ? Perhaps problems where the solutions are difficult to explain and best demonstrated by video. Thanks Duffryn Edited April 28, 2011 by Duffryn

activeviii
Im not being rude here but you can not show people what to do if things are going wrong buy doing it in video. the only way to help someone with a problem is to see the dog, in person, to see if there is another underlying fault that the own hasnt picked up on. you could end up instilling a new fault. most problems occur by the trainer rushing each stage and not getting every element right before bringing it all together at the end. i think it is dangerous ground telling people how to put things right if they are going wrong. if it was that easy to do then there would be 101 DVD's out there by the top trainers and others, telling us all how too's I did wonder why there wasn't a useful guild on 'when things go wrong' and the more i, think and see, i understand why one hasn't been done. as i said, im not trying to knock you for trying to help, good on ya, but you cant help with out the dog and owner showing you the problem first. Duffryn
Surely the dog trainer you are developing the site for would be the best to ask. Sorry for delay responding ! The trainer has lots of experience helping people face to face. However the key to making the videos popular and helpful for people is finding the areas that are not already adequelty covered on the net - one person will find this difficult to do and so hence the question. I agree with the comment below that nothing can every replace face to face tuition I was trying to get some pointers to help producing some tips for those that are not able to obtain face to face tuition and where people have found that a subject is not already covered well online.
