Holland&Holland
I agree that it's important to have a retrieving dog while youre shooting. Unfortunately i can not take my dog from mainland europe to Britain without a lot of trouble and paperwork. Up till now i just didn't bother because it takes to much money and work to bring my dog over. Pity . I enclose a picture of my dog retrieving a pigeon (always nice) . @Konings please don not use caps lock, now it looks like youre shouting. The same in dutch: Graag de caps lock functie uitzetten, nu lijkt het of je schreeuwt ! bye, Ruud
MC
Cranfield, I remember being on 'Kenzies Creek' on The Wash when i was without a dog for a short time. Nothing more soul destroying than taking a good mallard and not being able to pick it because it is being washed away by the tide the other side of the creek. How true this is, I had a good day last season when I shot 6 wigeon and only managed to retreive 3 of them. After beating myself up about it I swore never to set foot on the marsh again without a dog. So Merlin is now in full time training to ensure he is ready for September 1st.
