john12
Tried something i have never done before today.First was asked to go try and shoot some crows that where slowily digging up a field which had been drilled with carrots. Never having decoyed crows before a borrowed some decoys and set off,got to the field to find around 30 on.Set up in a hedge with my 6 decoys around 20 yards infront of me. After around half hour a few had come over but just stayed out of range.so placed more cover over the front of the hide an kept my head down abit more this seemed to do the trick as the next bird came in swear it would have landed if i had let it. That was the first of 27 should have had more but just couldnt seem to get my eye in.Around lunch it died off abit but a few pigeons had started to mill about after getting a couple and adding them to the pattern found a few more started to come my way.Added another 10 to the bag and 2 more crows. Ended the day with 29 blacks and 12 pigeons.realy enjoyed myself had never shot on carrots before or at crows but leanrt alot.Hoping to get out again one night this week will take the camera this time and take some pics.
