What is a good load

Recommended Posts

Erm, well you will get many opinions on here. :look:

I assume that you are talking 12g, or else thats just a stupid load.

The other assumption that i make is that you are looking to shoot decoyed Pigeons ???

If you are then any load from 21g of 7 1/2 shot or anything through to 32g of 5 shot would be ok. There are some peole who like extremes on here.:blush::blush:

Pattern is everything so personally i like either 28g of 7 1/2 or 6 shot. These will kill Pigeons nicely. :good:

This load wuld also work with crows rooks and oer winged vermin at sensible ranges.

If your as good as Bidwell and can shoot pigeons out to 80 yards you may want a hevier load. :yp:

Just remember in a hide you may well be firing many shot :yp: s so you wan something relitavily kind on the shoulder. :good:

Hope this helps,

Good luck

No need to change to anything else. What you're already using are ideal. :good:
