JustJon
Hi, I see lots of talk on peas but little on beans. Are they useless for shooting over? If not, when's good? Planted? Half grown? Ripe? So much to learn...
motty
Beans are good to shoot over when first drilled. Look again at around harvest time (September ish), some birds can usually be found in fields of the standing crop. These will be the fields to look at when the crop is harvested. I've had some big bags on bean stubble and it can be the best shooting of the year.
proTOM1
Beans can be very good i tend to only shoot over them when they have been harvested and also when there drilled , my beans are very poor this year with big patches so my farmers have asked me to watch them when they start to ripen . which want be to long away well another month or so Edited June 19, 2011 by proTOM1
