Sprocker101
Just out of curiosity, are the any professionals on here, and what are the necessary qualifictions required etc. And how do you go about finding work?? This is all new to mr, I've been reading up on doing some paid stalking etc and it got me thinking that I know nothing about it!!! apache
Take a big step back here! There is no official formal route and if you have land and a rifle you could charge to take people out to shoot the deer, suddenly you are a 'professional' guide. Realistically you would need plenty of land to stalk that you had permission to stalk over with paying guests. Most people (who ere paying) would expect you to have DSC1&2. You would need insurance to cover yourself and guests as once money changes hands the customer isn't covered by their own BASC (etc) cover. You would need a trained deer dog, larder facilities. Go out and enjoy some paid stalking, do your DSC 1 and learn a bit about things first.
Redgum
you could go DSC1 and then DSC2 followed by advanced stalker and apply to be a credited witness then assessor, its a long road and you will have to have access to shoot a good few deer. The other route of course is through college, sure there must be some sort of deer management course out there. If you want it enough you will find the way I'm sure. If that is the case then any paid game shoot would be the same. Is this just your opinion or a known fact? I would really like to know. Sprocker101
Cheers for the info. I'm planning on trying some paid stalking, was wondering how the pros moved from being just pleasure stalkers into pros. Now I know there's not much difference! Redgum
Basic basc or CA insurance will cover you if your going on a paid stalk, if your taking somebody on a paid stalk or your a pro stalker you will need differant insurance, most shooting/country orgs can supply it seperatly.
