Countrybumpkinboy
Hi there, Next year I am planning to get a cock pheasant with a couple of hens to try my hand at breeding. I was hoping anyone could give me tips on what to do? When to do it? What equipment do i need? I already have a pen, heat lamp and incubator. I am only planning to do this small scale and then realese the poults onto a friends farm. Thanks for any advice given
Stealth Stalker
Best to get at least 5 hens, catch them up at the end of the season and get some breeder pellets, end of March beginning of April start collecting the eggs SS
Alycidon
Its a huge amount of work!!. BUT if you insist then catch at least 5 and preferably 10 hens and two cocks. There is no less work with that lot than a cock and two hens. Poults at 6 weeks are just over £3 so just think of the economics of rearing maybe 25 birds.
