As discussed in another thread I had the idea of setting up a gun cleaning and minor repairs business. The minor repairs section went out of the window when the issue of RFD status was raised. To cut a long story short, Someone mentioned offering a gun cleaning service at the end of driven game shoots, and I thought I'd do a little research into the idea as it seemed a good one. Unfortunately I cant travel huge distances so I would need to work locally. If business went well, or I found the work load too much for the time given, I might even take on an 'apprentice', but thats all another story.

I might even get a go on a few beaters days or pick up some pigeon shooting while I'm at it ;)

Anyway, that was the reason for enquiring. I had a look on Guns on Pegs, I am indeed a member aswell, but I found very few.

Small syndicates will clean their guns themselves either before or after going to the pub. Large syndicates are likely to have loaders/stuffers who wil clean their guns guns for them before they depart the shoot. Finding a mid size syndicate that is going to trust someone to clean several grands worth of guns at the end of the day is going to prove tricky.

Well, that changes things.

I hope you are well insured in case you drop £25k's worth of EEEL

Off the top of my head here are the ones I can think of...

Southfields farm, Rothley (Anthony Cooper

Swithland Hall, Swithland (c/o Tony Marshall)

Grace Deau Hall, Thringston

Home Farm, Nanpantan

I'm sure I'll remember more later :hmm:

The LACS guy came up to me at the fair yesterday just to point oout that the trailer I was using had an illegal numberplate.

I should have replied with "yep, but you know whats not illegal? - shooting foxes in the face!" :D
