THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Half the fields now been cut & I've knocked a few Pigeon down. I've noticed a lack of activity this year compared to the last few & as many fields are not yet harvested localy I'm a little puzzled by this. While day dreaming yesterday I spent a pleasant few minutes watching a Buzzard circling over a local nature reserve next to my shoot. Buzzards are common localy & even had them above the house. It slowly circled & came over the field I had the deeks in inc' a few shot birds in cradles. I'd put the cradles away from the main stock of deeks to widen my pattern, they were next to a crow deek, as i watched the Buzzard I though shall it won't it over & over again. It gently landed right next to the crow deek & ignored it & allso ignored the shot Pigeon. Seconds later the Buzzard flew off not to be seen again while I was there. Strange behaviour I've not seen before.
silver pigeon 3
I have had Buzzards circling the deeks but never land in amongst them, on one of the farms i shoot on if i ever go for a wander with the gun and drop anything in the one field that they nest in the Buzzard will appear within a minute or two and take the pigeon/rabbit back to the tree. This happens regulary now so i now use steel shot in this field
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
I bet you happily shoot just to watch the Buzzard !!! I was expecting Buzzard/Pigeon activity, either the shot birds or the deeks but totaly gobsmacked when the Buzzard landed right next to the Crow deek.
