rjimmer
Looking into the hawke night eye 6.5-20 for my aas410 and my rimmy when i get it Just had a look here: http://www.extorian.co.uk/shooting/kit.html If you can find something with a 56 mm object lens, it would be a lot better in low light conditions. The extra magnification available with a Zoom scope is not necessary in my opinion. You could get a better quality fixed magnification scope for the same money. If you want a telescope, get a telescope. Having all that mag. power on top of a gun will mean that you will be tending to point the gun at things you don't intend to kill. BAD PRACTICE!!!!! It could also lead to problems with the police if someone thought you were about to shoot them.
1 of 5
Quality of optics NOT size of objective is the most important factor in light transmission. A 56mm objective with worse optics will only ever be poorer than a 50mm one. The Hawke is a decent scope for the money. Not at all sure what rjimmer is saying with his oppinion but a 6.5 to 20 is fine for a 410 or rimmy. A bit of extra mag DOES lead to better precision in shot placement. I refuse to believe that putting a 6.5-20 mag scope on an airgun or rimmy will cause the slightest problem with plod or ANY safety issues WHATSOEVER. everygoodnamewastaken
I see what he's saying. I have found myself looking through my scope at things in the distance. If i had to do that with a bigger rifle and accidentally fire...........It may end in tears
1 of 5
Ah- I see now, but that's neither a fault of nor a feature of the scope though. Take binoculars with you for that.
