martinclay
My cocker pup is now 16 weeks old and I have got her to sit, wait, walk to heel (not on the lead), come back and was talking to a person that I meet out walking and they said that I have done to much work with her at a young age. Just want to know what your you lot think. Any comments would be great.
Tom&Dexter
as long as you are having fun with her that's the main thing Mine is the same age as yours will wait to be sent for food come out the kennel on command and not to bad on the lead the main thing you want to work on is bonding with her, on her recall you want her bounding into you and climbing all over you be the best thing in the world. get some pics up what you going to use her for ? Any comments would be great. the first bit of training i do with my dogs is the retrieve, find a alley way and throw a ball 3 times a session to much is no good, after a week a bit further, 2-3 weeks the pup will be retrieving well, then i will start the sit, same routine 3 times daily is plenty to stimulate their brain. after a week, sit and stay, until the pup will sit and stay you can walk away 5-10 metre, then throw the pup a tennis ball to retrieve (plenty of spit on it the scent is a 100 times stronger). bit by bit it all comes together. Happy hunting. Marc
