M.I.A
I would normally take the following in my kit bag: Pellets Lamping Kit Knife Hide Tool Binos Drinks Snacks Small LED torch Phone Small First Aid Kit and anything else i think i will need, but the above is always in my bag ready. I always leave my insurance details in the car
Rooke87
What rifles are you guys using? Sub 12ftb?? Or above.. And how much was your insurance?
M.I.A
I use non FAC air rifles (under 12 ft/lbs) I am a member of BASC, it cost about £60 a year and is worth every penny. You can get cheaper but BASC do alot for our sport so they will always have my backing.
Rooke87
Cool.. Which rifle for hunting? I'm looking into either a webley raider 2 .22 or a hw97k .22... Any advice? A secondhand 97k seems the best for value
Archie-fox
I have center fire rifles for deer/foxing...but my kit bag is roughly the same Basc insurance around £66 for a years cover..
M.I.A
I would go with the 97, The 97 was my very first air rifle and there a great bit of kit. Really regret selling it a few years ago
Rooke87
Are they ok to hunt? I know u won't get a quiet springer but is it quiet enough not to spook quarry? I just can't really afford a pcp unfortunaty
M.I.A
Yeah it will be fine mate, i have a PCP and to be fair a springer @ 30 yards wont worrie them too much. The noise of the pellet wizzing down range and clouting mr bunnys mate will spook them more than anything
M.I.A
I love springers i dont have one now but im trying to source a BSA Lightning & HW80. Had both before and there cracking air rifles. I miss the simplistic nature of springers, plus i wont mind knocking it about as much either
Rooke87
Thanks mate! Much appreciated! Just trying to find one in my limit... About £250 - £300..
M.I.A
You might struggle a bit to find a 97 for that sorta money. Keep your options open, any of the weihrauch range will do the job with ease :0 Edited September 1, 2011 by M.I.A
