Billy.
I think you'll be fine. Just be honest. You'd have lost your SGC by now, if it was bad enough. Edited September 5, 2011 by Billy.

apache
I've just had an interview for a variation (I did ask for 4 extra guns) and got a speeding fine and put it on the paperwork. Wasn't even mentioned during the interview. They take minor motoring offences with a pinch of salt by the looks of things.

I didn't even realise that speeding offences etc. had to be declared when I first applied, when the firearms chap came around he mentioned it and suggested it was a 'hazard of the job' to which I agreed I was quick to offer an apology mind you for omitting it I'm sure you'll be fine. njc110381
If you haven't had your SGC revoked I can't see what reason they could give to suggest that you are not fit to hold a firearm? I know a SGC can be granted for no real reason where as with a FAC you have to have good reason to actually need the firearm, but the need or reason to have one isn't the same as suitability to hold. From a security point of view if you can have one you should be able to have the other.

Kes
Hi Tigger - I have declared speeding convictions in the past and it made no difference. If you are honest, as has been mentioned already, I dont think you should worry. Police are human as well and know that some things do happen. Also, you do not have to be a perfect human being to have a firearm, just a responsible, sensible, person who is able to get 2 people to vouch for that fact. I, and the police, will deduce from your concern that there isnt a social misfit lurking in you!!!!! All the best Kes
