Old Bull
ermm... not sure about difference on the 2 really the the mk6 was my first gun just for a bit of plinking and the odd pigeon and the scope should be just fine cant remeber what my scope is but just remember to oil it regularly as the blueing on my barrels is rather thin and it has been rusty 1 or 2 times but cleaned up good
SteveieP
It was my first air rifle too....in 1974.LOL I still have mine. A simple, robust, ligthweight break-barrel, but unlikely to put out more than around 8fpe. it's quite a small rifle & not practical to try & tune for more power Single stage trigger & the pull is a little heavy & can't really be lightened much before the sear doesn't hold the piston. They're little ******* for scope creep because the dovetails are cut quite shallow. it will serve you well as a plinker or short range hunter, but does have it's limits
buckle
so what would you reconmend? its got a ox spring in and its at full power mind!!!
SteveieP
I'm not sure what you mean by "it's at full power" I'm not a fan of any square section spring & have found them to have harsh characteristics. There's nothing wrong with a BSA original spring or even a Titan XS. It's a Meteor, it's not built to put out 11+fpe, due to it's small compression chamber & physical dimensions. Chances are, if you get it much above 8 fpe without serious modification, it will kick like a mule & you'll hit nothing anyway. If you want a full legal limit power gun...get a bigger gun, otherwise all you should be aiming for is to get the Meteor running smooth at around 8 fpe. Enjoy it for what it is...but what it isn't is a powerhouse. I appreciate this is not what you're hoping to hear. My Meteor has been superseded by 3 Chinese springers all of which I have personally fettled, fitted with tune kits & either Weihrauch or Maccari piston seals. All smooth as glass & producing around 11.5 fpe (see pic) I appreciate there are plenty of ******-bashers out there, they all just happen to be wrong.
