mpk
Hi all, Looking for a little advice on people that have used these before. Got a 16 month old lab who I unfortunately didn't kennel so looking for a dog vest to keep the wind off in the winter ? I worry these flotation ones will affect his swimming ? Does or has anyone used these and which ones were better ? Cheers
Spaniel
Not to sure about the swimming part but i got a XL Neoprene for the spaniel last year from Tidepool, and lucky enough it also fits the Lab, who may get an outing or two this season. But i got it more for the warmth as the springer was shivering last year but i never had to put her into the water

Cheers As long as it is the correct size it should not really affect them to much it helps to make them more bouyant in the water i have found all mine wear them in the winter especially after the last one we had ,many a time mine have come out of the water and turned completly white and frozenI Im sure they would be fine but not willing to take a chance i have Dokken supervest and some cabelas ones one i think is 5mm the others 3mm but thinking of changing the other to the 3mm as the other one is very thick and does not feel that flexible almost feels stiff. kent
I have one they are great, the floats are very small and either side of the spine so don't get in the way. Watch for dog getting too hot though if its not cold and wet dont bother IMO. It might just effect the dog if he dives under but mine wouldn't anyhow
mpk
I have ended up buying an avery neoprene one which is 3mm thick. Didn't know neoprene was naturally bouyant so happy with that it will only be used in the deepest depths of winter to keep the wind off of him.....I will probably take him swimming in a few weeks just to get him acclimatised to it. Thanks for all your comments as usuall
