Quad bike shooting rest

Had a couple of hours in the workshop last night thinking how to make a quad shooting support for the farm I now have permission on.

Found this old bar stool base and set about with the disc cutter.

Turned it upside down to use the top as a base to fix to the quad frame.

Welded some round bar to the uprights and bent slightly to give a better shooting angle

And wrapped in foam lagging to protect the rifle

Just gotta do some hooks for the rifle support while travelling and I'll update when it's fitted to the quad with some action shots

arrrrrrrrr a man of metal just like me, I love to tinker in the workshop, my latest venture is full side shooting rails on the Quad so i have just about a 360 deg rest. Sometimes when driving down a track you cant position the quad to get a shot off the rest so i thought hey make the whole dam thing a rest :good:

yea its all done now will get some pics up, I have a dog box on the back and its quite easy i have mounted some 22mm pipe clips and the foam rails fit in at the box end and two uprights in the front rack end giving full side rails at a good rest height. They pop out with a quick push and you can still get on and off to open gates without much problem, now i have night vision it allows me ot sit out on a rape field (not allowed to take truck on but can quad) and plink away with the rimmy in any direction and still have a cup O tea on the go :good:
