Gimlet
Dusted off the .22 this afternoon and went out to check the zero. Had a box of my usual SKs with about 10 rounds left. Got the rifle bang on the money with those and thought I'd do a bit of plinking, so opened another box and started spraying them all over the place. I put a few through it to check it wasn't me and noticed my fingers were getting tacky. The rounds were covered in grease, some of them daubed with it like they'd been dipped in a pot of vaseline. I've never known SKs to be like that before. Eleys yes (see thread further down the page) but not SKs. Checked the boxes and the first nearly empty box were a different batch. I had some Winnies so I put a few through and the groups shrank back to 10mm at 70 yds even with gusty side wind, which is more like it. No doubt about it, I've got a batch of wrong uns. If anyone's about to go out and buy a load of Lapuas the batch to look out for is: 149 45/1 203 4 Edited October 29, 2011 by Gimlet
Alpha Mule
Nice one (the heads up, not the dodgy box).
hendersons
I've been having some problems with my shooting while using my .22.i Thought it wS because I hadn't used it for a while and that I had got rusty with it. I have the same batch as you I think. They are spraying everywhere some high and some low. I even had to put it back in it's slip the other night and get the .204 out because I thought I was shooting so poorly with it. Thanks for the heads up Nick
