Baldrick
They're some of the best books I've ever read - I've got them all, except for the latest. Outstandingly funny, with wonderful illustrations by Bryn Parry. I particularly like Birds, Boots and Barrels. Bryn and Giles make a great pairing. On the theme, whilst at the Glemham Game Fair, I bought some of Simon Trinder's cartoons (www.simontrinderartist.co.uk) which are as good as Bryn's, although slightly more cutting in their humour. Great pics to have on the wall in the bog.
Ben D
Yes I agree!!! Spread the word. Have you ever met him? Extremely funny guy. I think he's writing another one. Do you read the Shooting Gazette? He's loads of artickles there. He's even done one based on my dog, 'the Irish Water Spaniel'. It's great. Dunkield
I bought Shooting Types for mate of mine a few Christmas's ago, i have to confess to having a quick squint through it before I wrapped it I gave up my subscription to the Gazette as it started to read like and old boy network that I was, and never likely to be, a member of. Baldrick
I subscribe to Shooting Gazette, so get my Catchpole/Parry dose each month, and it never fails to amuse. I haven't met either of them, although I would like to. "Sex in the Country" is the new book, although it's got less of Giles's amusing ramblings in that previous tomes.
