-Mongrel- Posted November 21, 2011 Report Share Posted November 21, 2011 I've checked the boiler when its running, at 3 bar. The expansion tank has an air valve just below the centre line, and its got zero pressure :blink: No water or air coming through when I press it in....thats wrong isn't it! Yes mate it is wrong. Good news is no water out of the valve. As said, turn the boiler off, depressurise the heating, easiest way is to start draining the rads but don't open any radiator air vents. When the hose stops then leave it open and pump up the pressure vessel as described earlier. Close the hose drain off. Refill until the gauge on the boiler reads 1, bleed the rads and refill again until you have air free rads and the pressure reads 1 again. Then you can turn the boiler back on.
