Your bitch is obviously mature if you want to know how long before you can work her again, 6 weeks to be safe but around a month and she'll most likely be fine.

Are you a vet? Will you pick up the bill if she bleeds out?

One thing annoys me about forums is pass away comments.

No I'm not a vet, I'm passing on the advice I have been given by my vet recently after one of my bitches was spayed.

She will only "bleed out" if she is bleeding, and if she is bleeding she should be back at the vet. It is not a pass away comment, it is a common sense response to the OP's question and following my experience that my bitch in question was back working after a month.

Perhaps your vet has a crystal ball?

Even more annoying when they are right - isn't it! :D

2 weeks STRICT lead exercise. Next 2 weeks build things up, by 4 weeks moderate work should be fine. If you work the dog really hard give it 6 weeks.

Not really, its better coming from a vet surgeon than a 'bloke on the interwebs'
