Beretta 686E vs 682 Gold E

The 682 as a model number has been around donkeys years as Beretta's base competition model. It's won many many titles at every level.

In more recent years I believe it uses the same basics as the 686 and Silver Pigeon series, but comes with all the twiddly extras - multiple chokes, adjustable trigger, lengthened forcing cones etc.

I don't know what's happened to the 686 though - maybe GMK/Beretta feel they already have enough similar guns in that price bracket?

I found the 682 to be a whipper gun than the 686e, which could be down to a personal preferance on the gun handling and it being Berettas base competition gun asper what Flat-Cap showed.

The 686E as far as I know has now been discontinued (although its a superb gun) and has been replaced by the Silver Pigeon 1 series of gun. One gun shop I know reduced new 686E's to £1300, with the release of the SP1.
