ando
Morning I had my first left and right woodcock on Saturday, only ever shot one before, was well chuffed, only thing was it took me 3 shots! and I had obviously broke the gun and reloaded and un mounted it so it doesn't count. :/ Won;t be joining the Woodcock Club yet! It Was on a new permission with some nice rough ground to walk through, saw another woodcock when we were looking for a pheasant, didn't have the gun cocked and it went of like a shot! So maybe next time we go I'll get a proper left and right. Looking forward to having them for dinner tonight, need to find a good recipe to do them with, anyone got any ideas? Interesting to read that when they are spooked and take off, the first thing they do is clear their bowls and them fly like mad to get away, that is why you can eat the intestines, has anyone tried them, what do they taste like? Cheers Ando Edited December 13, 2011 by ando

woodcock1
Once happened me twice in the one day. Using a 3 shot auto. Missed the second barrel both times. Didnt mind though. Usually get a r+l most years but then I spent a LOT of time after them. Not looking good this year, Im having the poorest year since I really started taking an interest in them.
