vole
I have the Lenser T 7 and am pleased with it generally apart from the beam mushrooming outwards a bit on full spotlight . I am after a more convenient sized torch to keep in the top pocket and realize that it will not be as bright as the T7 but hope to get something that will give a beam not too far short of a full size torch . I have been on all the websites and there is a brilliant selection but would appreciate anyones views or experiences . I will spend up to £ 30 or so hence the real top end stuff is out . Many thanks . Edited December 17, 2011 by vole
Loki
Hi Blacks Outdoor were offering 25%? off their sale prices tail end last/earlier this week - brought the price of a Lenser P7 + a small pocket one close to your ball park. Seem to recall these are rated well.......... Dealextreme? also do Ultrafire? ones that are smaller in diameter but do punch out led light - the offerings seem to include remote & tailcap switches and well in your figure. Over to you. Cheers
silver pigeon 3
I have 2 AP Pro torches and they are superb. Beam goes from a very intense spot to a more open light. Definately worth a look.

vole
Opted in the end for 2 torches . Got the Terralux Lightstar 220 and it is a good one ,on first impressions Well built and is at least 75% as bright as my Lenser T7 . £26.50 well spent . AA batteries nice and cheap. Terralux do those upgrade bulbs for Maglite that make them shine brightly and stopped me selling mine . The lanyard arrangement is not to my liking but there is a good clip for your belt . There is no focus but there is a good spotlight with fair spill of light . A good general mid range torch for short range shooting or general dog walking etc. Also got a Lenser P3 .Single aaa one hand focus job which fits in your palm . Solidly made . The focus seems to change a well defined disc to a similar sized diffuse one . The lens is a bit plasticky but recessed so protected . It does give aa Maglite capability to a crayon size torch .Has a clip and lanyard loop at the base where it should be . Got it for £6.99 plus p and p . Easily illuminates a shed or garage with a very useable light level . Edited January 6, 2012 by vole
