Pirate of Love
Hi Guys Sorry if this has been already asked. I have done a search but could not find the question to answer I am looking for. I am just about to buy my fist set of pigeon decoys. What should I get. Shells full bodies flocked or unflocked Also how many do I need? Thanks POL.
Redditch
If you're just starting, then get 12 shell decoys. As to whether flocked or not, people have different opinions, but I would take flocked if possible. Also try and get some spring sticks for the shells, much better than just the standard plastic or wooden sticks
Shooting Tom
when i got my first lot of decoys i got 12 flocked shells and 10 full body decoys, but if you are on a budget then just get 12 half shells as they cost less and work just as well doesnt really matter flocked or not, flocked are better in sun light as they dont have that plastic look about them having said that my mate has plastic shells which stand out just a good.as said before get better sticks for them as they are cheap and help add movement into the patten. theres no better decoy than a real pigeon get a BIG FREEZER... Redditch
Ref real pigeon decoys, if you can get them (Afford them) get some real bird decoy cradles, if not get some sate' sticks or lollipop sticks to use for propping up their heads
