hi. i'm thinking about starting lamping.

Question: Iven noticed that there is a twilight time between when you can no longer shoot with just a scope and darkness. Do you guys wait till proper nightfall before lamping or do you use lamps as soon as scope alone is useless?

I mainly lamp in the winter months and daylight shoot in the summer.

At that awkward time when you cannot see throught the scope is the best time to go back to the car, have a coffee and get the lamp out. Either that or just go out when it is dark.

By keeping the two "disciplines" seperate I find that it keeps the intrest up and makes me look forward to the Summer months!

good point. it's just that if i shoot in week after work, i only get about 2hrs usable light as im in a steep north/ south valley. I was wondering whether its worth splashing out on a lamp, and the wait in the car for an hour till the proper night. that way the bunnies settle down. but then, my shoot is only small so that would increase the pressure on the population. Tough one!

Invest in a good lamp, you'll need it come the winter months anyway. The twighlight hour and the lamp can be quite useful, especially when the rabbits are not so effected by it at this time. But if your shooting for the pot on a small shoot, don't get carried away. :good:
