BerettaSV10
The only way to get permissions is to start knocking on farmers doors, no one just gives permissions out easily many members have been trying to get permissions for ages without success. It also will help if you have insurance on you and may be permission slips when going around as the farmer will probally be looking to see that you are prepared for shooting and want to help the farmer out, not just for your own sport. BerettaSV10
There are some members from around that area and may be able to advise what the chances are. If you want to practice on clays for a while the west mids shooting grounds not far from you is open for skeet practice on a Tuesday afternoons and may well be a opertunity to meet some people to see if they shoot vermin and what the chances are of any farms etc that may free. aturner02
Cheers for the advice. I've been here for about 4 years now but have been really busy at work with afghan and stuff so not really had a chance to get about and meet people. Get to do lots of shooting at work but not much in my spare time, i'm trying to find something i can shoot at that wont shoot back. getting my shotgun certificate sorted this year so i'll look into buying days at pigeons with a guide and some clay shooting to get back on the scene. i come from a farm in ireland and have loads of shooting over there but don't get home much anymore, maybe could organise a shooting holiday for people and swap some permission. bit of a mission to get there but is well worth it. BerettaSV10
If you have not got your SGC application in yet and you are in a position to apply for it, put in for it asap as in our area the seams to be a very long waitng time of over 6 months.
