casts_by_fly
Hi guys, I need a new pair of boots. I bought my last ones in the US ~6 years ago for $30. They have been great, but the rubber has finally cracked and now they leak. I want wellies with a rubber foot and neoprene upper. I'm not looking for the neoprene lined rubber (they are easy to find), rather a full neoprene upper. Muck boots are a good example. Problem is, I don't want to pay muck boot prices. I was hoping £35-40 or so. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rick
DuncanB525
Hi, I would recommend muck boots. There a bit expensive at £60 but are really warm with neoprene in them!
ciaran
Depends what muck boots you get, because if the rubber on the outside is only ankle height, then they won't last a crack out in the fields.
casts_by_fly
Hi guys, For a little more detail, I was looking at knee height boots with rubber up to and slightly above the ankle and neoprene above that. That's what my current ones are and I'd like to stick to that. The Derwent Muck boot would be the equivalent at £65. Amazon lists a 'Dirt boot' which seems a generic imitation of Muck. Anyone tried them and have first hand experience in the field? The tread looks good and the specs look fine. For $30 I think they might be my best bet unless anyone elsse has a suggestion. http://www.amazon.co.uk/DIRT-BOOT-NEOPRENE-WELLINGTON-VARIOUS/dp/B005R2R3G0/ref=sr_1_4?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1325845058&sr=1-4 Thanks Rick
DuncanB525
Rick, They look like muck boots. Muck boot with ankle high rubber are very nice they're comfortable, really warn and fully waterproof! Would recommend them!
