poontang
Calpol is a medication like asprin which limits the consumer to buying one bottle or pack at a time while ammunition is limited to say 500 rounds-this is what he's getting at. Yes, that's how I read it too I don't use #### so perhaps someone could mention that they may be limited as to how much Calpol they can buy in one shop, but could go to numerous pharmacies/supermarkets and buy as much as they want with just a little legwork!! I tried, but you cannot explain all that with the space that #### allow. This is why you cannot write a reasonable reply and he knows it. That's right, you've only got 140 letters or something isn't it? I don't really understand it

poontang
lol-he's blocking me now! This proves he knows im onto him. His analogy doesn't hold water anyway. Calpol is a paracetamol based product for children, and as such I suspect it would be very easy to overdose a child with just one bottle. So just as deadly as a bullet all said and done. HDAV
He is a dumb*** and now trying to back track: As an unlicensed individual how many bottles of calpol can you buy? 2 As an unlicensed individual how many live rounds can you buy? 0 As a licensed individual how many bottles of calpol can you buy? What ever the terms of licence allow (i would think for a pharmacist unlimited) As a licensed individual how many live rounds can you buy? What ever the terms of liscence allow He is also trying to suggest he knows what he is talking about because he "signs applications and renewals" and married into a farming family. However unless he has been incorrectly quoted the original quote was: http://www.whitehavennews.co.uk/news/easier-to-buy-bullets-than-calpol-claims-mp-jamie-1.912475?referrerPath=news Mr Reed said: “Responsible firearms owners deserve better, but most of all the public deserves better. “It is still harder to buy Calpol for a poorly child than it is to buy bullets. Nothing about quantity, purely about difficulty,
Mr_Logic
Annoyingly, he is actually right. Note word BULLETS Not AMMUNITION Bullets are not necessarily restricted items, and as such I can buy 10,000 in one hit if I so choose (and have something capable of moving them!) HDAV
But no mention of quantity.... not many places sell bullet heads (is a bullet the inert projectile? or a loaded case? a debate that can rage for ever)
Mr_Logic
A bullet is the projectile. A cartridge the loaded round. There is no debate to be had on this.
JustJon
even if this is what he meant as an MP he should be aiming to engage with the public on proper teams - not deliberately hiding behind definitions that the public have no sense or understanding of! Mr_Logic
Agreed. Very definitely sensationalised and hence very annoying. But it's spin, from a Labour politician. Who'd have thought it...
