Hello everyone,

Been reading and learning on here for a bit thought it was about time I said hello !

Some people may know my user name from Airgun BBS too.

Okay I've a question for the technical guys, I'm picking up a Browning 425 on Sunday second hand, mechanically it's sound but the stock needs refinishing, it's only usual knocks and bumps from use but I try to keep my guns mint if possible, so what I need to know is how to detach wood work from metalwork, what if and nasty lurking little hidden springs or thing to fall out and get lost under the **** in the shed are there ?

Also is there anything I need to know about reassembly ?

I've done the same job on several rifles but never on a shottie.

Thnks

Martin

Two or three screws under the forend - depends on model - unscrew and detach bits. Nothing to fall out. Just be careful easing the metalwork from the wood or you might splinter the wood.

Recoil pad off - one bolt holding the stock on - undo - sharp tap on pistol grip - stock comes off. No bits falling anywhere.

Perfect thanks Gordon, you know how it is first time nerves and all, having just bought the gun the last thing I want is to disable it by losing something important !
