Underdog
I hope this is a one off! A friend just got himself a new XL in 22 and he has struggled to get it to group well at 30yds and asked for a little help. The first thing was the trigger, the anti bear mech was disrupting the trigger and making for an inconsistant break of which was a heavy break besides. Some work later and it now has a slick sweet trigger but alas still not grouping! We tried three typs of pel and they were all the same, many fliers. Something was niggling me and on looking down the barrel there just did not seem to be enough clearance for the pel at the removeable silencer cap. We removed it and shot some more groups. Bingo! We got good groups from all three pels shot from a semi rested position abit like resting off the side of a tree. We replaced the cap again and it went bad again so we opened the cap up a little and it seems to be working ok now. The interesting thing was with a certain pel it whistled loudly all the way to the target! Without the cap we noticed it did not! I hope this is a one off situation because I have always highly rated BSA firearms of all types. This air rifle really impressed me with it's smallish size, it fit's me perfect and I would love to own one myself. Hope this helps someone. Underdog. Underdog
I took the feller out to one of my favourite spots this afternoon and all I can say is what a fantastic little light rifle it is (now). He took three squirrels and four woodies for nine shots. Outstandin little hunt. The trigger is a peach and it shoots cheap Eley wasps very well his longest kill being around 40+yds. Very impressed.
