Ratter1968
Hi, Decided to take up air gun hunting. Been offered a second hand BSA Ultra 177 with a scope for £275. It seems to be in great condition, and I'm told it's about 3 years old. Does that price seem reasonable? Cheers
lineshooter
Without seeing any pic`s, can`t say, sounds reasonably priced though. I have a multi and single shot Ultra`s in 177, they`re a great little gun, as a comparison my single shot was £260 new, with no scope, about three years ago, and I paid £280 for the multishot which was used and in very good condition. bullet boy
IMO the Ultra is an accurate rifle and my mate has one but for me it is way too fiddly to cock and load.
chrisjpainter
the other thing is check how good the scope is; it doesn't need to be world class, but the scope might have problems that aren't obvious just by looking at it. If the scope's doing what it should be and the gun shoots where you point it; sounds like you might be on for a winner! and if you can get the hang of the cocking system, any gun you get after that is going to be easy! Get it pushed over a chrono at a gun shop check the power's not way off! great starting gun by all accounts... P.s. where you from mate? you might be able to find a club where someone owns one?
