Good job on the Fox!! Is your model 7 a 12 twist barrel? Just curious how the 53 Vmax fly out of it. They surely won't group for me out of a 14 twist, looks like a shotgun pattern!!!

Ye it is a 12 and I have just gone on to the 53gr so it was a quick zero in the dark at a 100 yds when we went out and they seemed to group OK about inch. I saw a post on a forum Where s had a omone 14 twist and had to up the load to dangerously high levels to get consistency. I have loaded 28 which is max and 28.5 & 29 without any signs of high pressure. My rifle shoots the Nosler Spitzer 55grs very well and they are a long bullet the same ase the V - Max 53gr. Think it might be a better round when the Hodgdon CFE 223 powder becomes available, Going to try a batch with Varget.

Will have to check Zero again as there was a bit wind an it was shooting a bit high, Want just over inch at 100 yds and hopefully zero at 200 and I would exspect a drop about 6 inches at 300 yds with that setup.

Thanks!!!

Next time I rebarrel I will most likely go with a 12T just to take advantage of that high BC offered in the 53Vmax, I would still get the speed I want plus the advantage of less drift.

Another go to load in the 223 is AA2230 or AA2460 both shoot extremely well but are a little temp sensitive.

My load that is really accurate 26.5 2230 52 Hornady BTHP WW brass cciBr4 clocks around 3500
