pigeon rotory hight?

Recommended Posts

how high do you normaly have the pigeons on a rotory off the floor?

im tight and cant afford to buy on atm so im making one from a old drill and plenty of ali tubing/bar from work. thanks guys :good:

Drills are not ideal, that’s why all but the very expensive ones use windscreen motors.

They however are used to running for long periods and have speeds which work quite well on a rotary, coupled with good fixing holes to build a platform off.

Agreed drills are not the best to use , they do work but overheat when running constant and burn up battery power and from experience have a short working life.

Wiper motors as EH has said are the favourite, tough durable and plod on for ages.

Height of the rotary birds should be above grown crop height for use on crop before harvest, I use mine around 5 foot high, but if your building one no harm in making it adjustable if possible.

EH's pics will help you.

i have a three leged tripod that goes up to about twelve feet. magnet slots on the top of it and it has worked well . it is an old speaker tripod the type bands use a bit heavy but you can see it from a long way well above the headge tops and it was free :good:
