English partridge

Recommended Posts

Hi I help out with my local syndicate they release 250 pheasants and some times 30 French partridge. This year they have decided to have a go at English as the local wildfowling club has been for about 5 years. At the moment they release 100 a year and the shoot was thinking of buying an extra 50, we have been quoted £4.10p each I was just wondering if this sounds about right. And if any had any advice they seem to be holding all year but I haven’t seen any pair up or with young. It would be nice to see these established back in the area.

Yo can get the eggs off ebay very cheap if you can incubate them

Mark

Thanks Mark tried that last year with french but only got 50% hatch plus cant use them at best time as they are in full use for chickens.

Was proberly going to do a few pjeasant eggs as we got 70% with them last year.

Can't keep French and English together unless you have loads of space, the French are too territorial

Cheers didnt know that I was told by a keeeper that they would mingle.
