SA Shooter Posted April 12, 2012 Report Share Posted April 12, 2012 With the rain lashing down, my journey for an evening’s lamping was not looking very good. After a coffee and a chat we headed to the sheep farm which has produced 17 foxes so far. We saw one sniffing around the feeding stalls, but rather than trying to get across the field as it was not that dark we would come back after a drive around the farm. There were a couple of other foxes around the farm but they make for the hedges at the speed of light !!!!! So back to our starting point and out with the .22 for a few rabbits while waiting for the fox to reappear! With 6 rabbits dotted around the field, including a 60 yard free had running shot from TEH! We spotted Charlie working amongst the lambs but did not present a shot. Plan B! Wait for her to get her nose on the rabbits lying in the field…..5 minutes later out pops the fox, got my home made sticks quick squeak and wack !!!!! The Ruger strike again . A quick picture with the phone hens the quality, text the farmer and home………. That bumps the number up to 18 on this one farm since the lambing started this year.
