carpentermark Posted April 16, 2012 Report Share Posted April 16, 2012 (edited) Oak will take paint very well as long as its done right: one coat primer (oil based) two coats undercoat two coats top coat. Other than that you could use a two coat sadolin system but not cheap! Make sure you put a coat of primer on the backside before you fix it.
