gameshooter93
Hi there, I've just aqquired a small pond for duck shooting, and I'm going to put down some duck poults. I am going to put an electric fence around it, but I was wondering whether I should put up a weldmesh fence aswell for extra security?? Any ideas will be much appreciated. Thanks
Keeperchris
I release 1200 duck accross 3 ponds on our shoot and dont fence them at all. I spend alot of time foxing early on and it pays off. We shot nearly 850 ducks this year so the returns dont suffer too much. We find it keeps them wild and teaches them early the ways of the world. Works for me but others may disagree. Hope that helps. Cheers Chris
russ91
We only fence out ponds to keep livestock out and off the barley. Stock fencing is good for that.
duke hamish
We release ours straight on to the pond aswell, they know to head for the water after the first day. The only problem would be from otters and/or mink.
