foggy011983
I really don't understand Cz. I have two guns from them, but why is it when everything is great with them for example, reliability, accuracy etc etc that they can't sort out the damn stock and actually make it free floating. Once the excess wood is sanded its perfect. Why can't they just sort that one thing to make a reasonable priced gun great. Rant over after an hour of sanding!! bicykillgaz
The varmint is floated as standard
foggy011983
Supposed to be free floated 90 percent have a area of the stock that is touching the side of the barrel. If its not properly free floated it throws your shots of course. Easiest way to check if the barrel is floating properly is to slide a piece of paper under the barrel. If it touches then the stock needs sanding. just don't forget to seal the wood after otherwise moisture will make it expand
vampire
I have 2 czs and have had to float both that were already factory floated
foggy011983
Fun isn't it lol. Is such a shame as once its done everything else about them is perfect. Just two minutes longer with a sander is all it would take. I'm thinking about a aftermarket tactical stock but not sure if I can warrant the cost. Think I'll leave that to my 308. bullet boy
My CZ 455 Thumbhole Varmint is free foating!
foggy011983
Think I worded my first post so it was misleading. Both Cz rifles I have are factory free floated, its the fact they are badly floated. Everyone I've spoken to has the same problem its just damn annoying
bicykillgaz
Ah I see, I feel like the odd one out as my original stock was ok, a bit close on the bottom edge but no touching when it was dry cant say I ever checked after a nights lamping though. It would explain missing a few sitters
