ayano3
Hi, just wondered if anyone is struggling to find a nice dry and warmer period to drill this years maize cover crop. So far we have not been able to get on the land due to the prolonged wet spell and the soil temprature low. How are you doing regarding this. + this is the first time we have struggled to trap Magpies, in fact we have given up. I doubt I have shot them all, anyone else struggled. ColinF
None of our cover crop has gone in yet. The ground is too wet to cultivate at the moment, and I dont think that the soil is warm enough yet for maize to germinate properley. Hopefully, it will dry out and warm up a bit over the next two or three weeks.
Ferretboy111
Haven't touched ours yet, no way of getting on the ground the soil is like a swamp! Agree, soil temps need to increase somewhat! On magpies front- struggling to trap them also! Caught 20 this year whilst last I had 50- they just don't seem to be around this year. Alycidon
Start getting your plots cultivated now, drill when its dry enough, you have two or three weeks so no hurry. A
