SPEEDY
I just settled on a load of 67gr of AR2208 behind the 220gr Taipan flat nose projectile to use on pigs during my up-coming Buffalo hunt. The only trouble is that I have to seat the projectiles out so far that the base of the projectile only sits halfway down the neck, but I can live with that. According to my calculations that load should be getting around 2800-2850fps, so it should be a great 250m load for pigs. At 100m the biggest 3 shot group was 35mm and the smallest was just 23mm, the 5 shot group came in at 36mm so I’m quite happy overall. The best of all was that where my old 270gr load produced 45ft/lbs of recoil, this one only produces 30ft/lbs. Meaning that after I finished firing 50 rounds from the bench not only did I still have all my fillings but my shoulder was fine as well. Dunkield
Good groups obviously a very sensible load. I have only ever shot 375 once, off sticks and had a fairly hefty thump to it, but not as bad as I was expecting, I would have thought prone or of a bench you have to be careful how much you stuff down it.
