The Essex Hunter
With the lighter evenings and no rain! We decided to try our luck just before dusk, There was a good stiff breeze so I took advantage of it and crept through a small gate To see this lad was working the field back and forth. He was around 140 yds out and stopped to cock his leg… while he was having a wizz…so did the round out of my .243… Our last look around before home and a fox out amongst the lambs…one look at the lamp and he was off. Jeff is new to lamping and kept looking for him in the same field, I whispered to look behind us!! Ah ha a set of eyes around 40 yards! No shot as the gate was in the way, so we crept up to the gate, gun ready…lamp on! The fox had moved away to around 80 yds...one squeak and number 2 for the night. Pictures off a phone so not so clear, but the sky behind is nice in the first one. TEH
