ayano3
I usually do a post when I have a good or decent day, not always, but after watching a field all week I felt a phone call to Col (off the forums) in regards to a day out after the pigeons would be a good idea. I had shot 16 on the Linseed field last weekend before rain stopped play and had watched the same field all week. There had been quite a few all week so I was optimistic of a few birds on Sunday. I like to invite Colin along as he dont have much shooting of his own and he does appreciate a day out, I never promise shooting, the times we have had a good day I treat as a bonus. Anyway we went and sat and watched the said field but there was nothing actually feeding on it so we had a 10 minute drive to look at another place where there was always pigeons floating around, same again, plenty flying around but not using the field. After much debate we went back to the Linseed. By now there was a few feeding so off we went. We set up where I had the previous week and at first there was nothing, but we finally got some shooting after a thirty minute wait. But the wind kept changing direction so it was a bit of trial and error. I then spotted a nice flow of pigeons dropping into the end of the field, we decided it was time to move. We got set up again, Col had a newly purchased Turboflapper so we set that up with my twelve FUD's, it looked a very good combination. But the pigeons just didnt come, we did shoot five and missed a few, but I still had a good day. You dont always have to shoot big bags to have a good day, its also about getting out and being in good company. Thanks for coming again Colin, I hope you can make it when we have more to go at. Colc08
Thanks Graham. Like you said it's all about getting out and having a go, and as always I really appreciated the day out. We did mangage a few birds but it is always equally enjoyable for me just being out in good company, which it always is
