Livefast123
If you are talking of a .22LR then I have never cleaned the barrel, some people agree but some don't so it's personal choice.
SakoQuad
Hi can some one please tell me if you clean the barrel ,I have a Cz 452 American ,I was told you don't on air rifles but are the rules different cheers in advance This has been discussed quite recently and the general opinion on RF was "not likely!" I was quite surprised by the almost universal view that it was unnecessary and even disruptive to accuracy. So I have stopped "deep" cleaning after every use instead I pull a patch through my Sako occasionally and will wait till accuracy starts to deteriorate when I reckon to do a thorough clean. I think the exception will be if the gun got wet, I would want to make sure completely dry before putting away and I do wipe exterior metal with either a silicon cloth or oil cloth to wipe off finger acids and moisture before putting in cabinet. This is what I have always done with air rifles. I do clean my moderator though as that gets very mucky and starts to prove difficult to take apart if not done every 150 / 200 .22 rounds. I also clean it after every session of .17 use as that is REALLY dirty stuff. What's your instinct about cleaning?
bedwards1966
What calibre? .17's need cleaning, but everyone has different experiences regarding the frequency needed. .22lr's hardly ever need cleaning, I think high precision target shooting is a bit different, but most seem to find that they never need cleaning. remy 700
Hi my findings are to not clean a 22 rimy but to always keep a centre fire clean , I cleaned a brno 22 once , never again it took 200 rounds to regain accuracy , just shoot it! cheers remy
